This Lesson is for Intermediate to Advanced users.

You will need the following items to complete your Peace Dove;

Filters:

Install your Filter into your PSP Plugins folder.  (You may have to restart PSP after installing these.)

Alien Skin Xenofex 1.0 - Glass 2.1 or Eye Candy 3.0 filter

(No longer available for download from Alien Skin.)

Xero Porcelain filter- you can get it HERE.

Super Blade Pro- you can download a demo version below.

Unzip the following files and install them:

Place your Selections into your PSP Selections folder.

Place the Noisy Silver presets (bmp and q5q file) into your Environment and Textures Folder in Super Blade Pro.

Let's Begin!

1.  Open a new image 350 X 350 pixels.  16 million colors and transparent background.  Name this layer Body.

2.  Go to Selections, Load, Load Selection from Disk and locate the jmc-peacedove-selection1 and apply it to the canvas.  Use the following settings:

3.  Grab your flood tool and fill your selection with White #ffffff.  Keep Selected.

4.  Go to Effects, Plugins, Xero and find the Porcelain filter.  Use the settings below:

5.  Keep Selected and go to Alien Skin Glass 2.1 and apply the filter with the following settings: If you don't have Glass 2.1 you can Use Eye Candy 3.0 Glass filter (Settings for Eye Candy 3.0 Glass are below.)

or

Eye Candy 3.0 Glass settings:

6.  Select None!

7.  Go to Selections, Load, Load Selection from Disk and find jmc-peacedove-selection3. Apply it with the same settings as before.

8.  Make a new layer and name it Body Trim.  Flood fill your selection with White #ffffff.

9.  Apply the Xero filter with the same settings as in Step 4.

10.  Go to Effects, Plugins and find the Super Blade Pro filter.  Once you have it open...click the first Settings File button as show in example below and apply the NoisySilver preset.

11.  Now we are going to apply a drop shadow.  Go to Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow with the following settings: V & H = 0, Blur 8.00, Color #968140

12.  Go to Selections, Load, Load Selections from Disk and open the jmc-peacedove2 with the same settings as before.

13.  Layers, New Raster Layer, name this layer Wing.  Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom.

14.  Flood fill this selection with White #ffffff.

15.  Effects, Plugins, Xero, Porcelain, same settings as in Step 4.  Keep selected.

16.  Effects, Plugins, Alien Skin Glass 2.1 OR Eye Candy 3.0 Glass. Change the settings as in the examples below.

or

Eye Candy 3.0 Glass settings:

17.  Select None!

18.  Go to Selections, Load, Load Selection from Disk, find the jmc-peacedove-selection4 and load it with the same settings as before.

19.  Layers, New Raster Layer and name it Wing Trim.  Flood fill selection with White #ffffff.

20.  Effects, Plugins, Super Blade Pro and apply the Noisy Silver preset as you did in Step 10.

21.  Repeat the same drop shadow that you used in Step 11.  Select None!

22.  Go to Selections, Load, Load Selection from Disk, find the jmc-peacedove-selection5 and load it with the same settings as before.

23.  Layers, New Raster Layer and name it Mouth.  Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top, Flood fill with White #ffffff.

24.  Apply the Super Blade Pro preset like we did in Steps 10 and 20.

25.  Apply the same drop shadow as in Steps 11 and 21.

We are almost finished.  Time to make his eye.

26.  Make a new Raster Layer (Layers, New Raster Layer) and name it Eye.

27.  Grab your Selection tool with the following settings:

28.  Draw a small circle on his head for an eye.  Example of where to place the eye is below.

28.  Flood fill your circle with White and then apply your Super Blade Pro Noisy Silver preset with the same settings as in previous Steps.

29.  Go to Selections, Modify and Expand by 2 pixels.

30.  Layers, New Raster Layer, then Layers, Arrange, Move Down.

31.  Flood fill your selection with White.  Select None!

32.  Merge all Layers visible in your Layer Palette and save your Peace Dove as a .pspimage.
